World Arthritis Day

World Arthritis Day is a global awareness day dedicated to raising awareness about arthritis and other rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs), which affect millions of people worldwide. With your support, we can promote awareness and education, support research efforts, increase early diagnosis and treatment, and create a global community.

This Year's Theme: #RMDreams

Each year, World Arthritis Day has a specific theme to reflect the most pressing goals of that year, give supporters a specific call to action, and generate massive digital engagement. The theme for 2025 is #RMDreams and aims to highlight the different dreams, goals, and wishes for people affected by arthritis and RMDs. These dreams serve as a guiding light for patients, caregivers, and advocates as they navigate the daily challenges associated with these conditions.

Furthermore, #RMDreams allows participants to be heard and supported as they speak their dream into existence. The hope is that once these dreams are shared, people impacted by RMDs, healthcare professionals, advocates, and researchers can help realize these visions. Together, we can ensure everyone's dreams are heard, supported, and fulfilled.

AiArthritis and World Arthritis Day

AiArthritis was created to focus in on the 22 autoimmune and autoinflammatory arthritis (AiArthritis) diseases, which also fall under the umbrella of arthritis diseases. Arthritis is not a single disease but rather a term that encompasses over 200 different conditions affecting the joints, tissues around the joints, and other connective tissues. Our organization was founded with the idea that narrowing the focus in on the couple dozen AiArthritis diseases will increase our impact and drive meaningful change.

We celebrate World Arthritis Day to promote better global understanding of arthritis and RMDs as a whole, while also taking the opportunity to emphasize the importance of highlighting AiArthritis education, policy, and research within the scope of overall arthritis advocacy. A donation to AiArthritis on World Arthritis Day will help us realize this mission, supporting efforts such as:

Distribution of educational and awareness resources to healthcare professionals, researchers, and companies
Supporting advocacy efforts that will lead to public policy wins
Patient-focused projects such as AUTO + Inflammatory Arthritis = X (or YZ) that will increase detection, diagnosis, and treatment
Creation of accessible, approachable resources and tools such as the AiArthritis Voices 360 Talk Show
Attending scientific conferences to stay updated on current research and medical updates

All of AiArthritis' work is driven by patient-identified issues and patient-infused solutions. Through advocacy, education & awareness, and research, AiArthritis has the insight and experience necessary to drive meaningful change for AiArthritis patients.

Patient-led approach

No one can identify what a patient needs most more than those personally impacted by the diseases. So, we find a variety of ways to invite patient voices 'to the table' to ensure we are addressing issues that matter most to them and to give them opportunities to be as involved in our programs as possible. In turn, our community can take pride in knowing they helped develop the programs and resources that ultimately can improve their lives and the lives of 450 million people worldwide!

Who do we help?

We help those diagnosed, their support network, and the undiagnosed ("Mystery Patients")... because everyone is undiagnosed before they are diagnosed.
