On December 8, 2024, Josh and Amanda’s world was forever changed when their sweet 5-year-old son, Jace, was diagnosed with T-Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL) at Children’s Nebraska hospital and medical center in Omaha, NE. A large mass in front of his heart made it difficult for him to breathe, and his brave journey of chemotherapy began just days after his diagnosis. This is every parent’s worst nightmare, and yet, through it all, they continue to fight with every ounce of strength they have.

Jace is surrounded by an incredible family: his parents, Josh and Amanda, and his little sister, Vada, who was just 2 years old when her big brother was diagnosed. Both Josh and Amanda work full-time, and Vada continues in day care while Jace began Kindergarten in the fall of 2025. But Jace’s weakened immune system means they can’t rely on their typical routines. The journey ahead continues to require more than just physical strength - it takes an entire community rallying behind them to make it through.

As Esther would say, “I try my best.” And now, it’s our turn to try our best for them.

The meal train has helped nourish their bodies, but the long road ahead calls for a deeper, sustained outpouring of love and care. There’s still so much more we can do to support them, because miracles happen every day, and we can be part of those miracles.

First Priority - DONE!

The Kromkas' swing set was assembled on November 22, 2025 - Jace's 6th birthday - by Artisan Roofing and Construction from Bellevue, NE. They had sweatshirts printed courtesy of Big Ink Tees in Omaha, NE, and even brought Jace monster trucks as a birthday gift - along with VIP TICKETS to MONSTER JAM 2025 for the WHOLE family!!!

The Kromkas' #1 NEED NOW - HOME IMPROVEMENTS

The kitchen remodel is complete, but other areas of the house need attention to help the family feel more at home long-term now, especially since they cannot move due to Jace’s diagnosis. The kitchen was remodeled to include a dishwasher for optimal sanitation for Jace’s immune system. The Kromkas also need to update the bathroom upstairs. They have started the basement updates but they need help finishing the updates in the basement, so the whole family has bedrooms on the same level. They started these updates a year before Jace's diagnosis but haven’t been able to finish them yet. The treatment schedule makes time at home even more precious. Making their home a safe and functional space will give them a much needed retreat from appointments and hospital life.

Medical bills, daycare expenses, and ongoing treatment costs continue to mount. Your financial contributions will help ease this burden, allowing Amanda and Josh to focus fully on what matters most, Jace’s recovery and their family’s well-being.
