My daughter, Emilie, and I are training to run the Pittsburgh Half-Marathon on May 1, 2022.

In search of a worthy senior project for school, Emilie decided to make the race a fundraiser. And since she has benefitted so richly from her own school's band program, she decided to find a musical cause.

We talked with Richard of the Brighton Music Center where I teach drum lessons, and he suggested that we raise funds for the Aliquippa school district, where the music program had been previously cut but is now restarting. In fact, they've just hired a new band director.

Our goal is to raise $5000 by race day. AND, the Brighton Music Center has generously agreed to match that amount - dollar for dollar.

That means $10,000 to purchase musical instruments for the Aliquippa school band!
