FEED THE FURLOUGHED

The Neighborkind Collective, a network of churches including The Kingstowne Communion and Franconia UMC, and in collaboration with Chalkboard Wings & BBQ, is collaborating throughout the shutdown to provide a FREE meal on Tuesdays as a way to offer support and care to all those affected by the government shutdown.

DONATIONS

All donations made on this page will go straight toward covering the cost of the FREE meals for all those affected by the shutdown. It costs the Neighborkind Collective $5 per meal; therefore, a suggested donation of $20 covers the cost of dinner for a family of 4.

WHEN & WHERE:

Tuesdays (until the shutdown ends) from 4-8pm at Chalkboard Wings & BBQ, 8723 Cooper Road, Alexandria, VA

THE FREE MEAL:

Dine-in at Chalkboard Wings & BBQ or take your food to-go. Chalkboard is discounting the following meals on Tuesdays to just $5, and the Neighborkind Collective is picking up the rest of the check for anyone currently affected by the on-going government shutdown. Meal choices may vary week-to-week, but there will always be multiple options to choose from.

WHO EATS FOR FREE:

We'll cover the cost of one meal per person for:

- furloughed government workers

- families of furloughed

- those working without pay

- those in fear of layoff

- or those otherwise affected by the current government shutdown
