Sharlene has been bedridden the last couple of years and her husband is now her full time caretaker. From living in her bed she is in dire need of a new mattress which financially is not an option for them at this time due to her husband being out of work and the medical bills/physical therapy treatments.

I first met Sharlene in December 2022 when she had cooked a bunch of extra food and was looking for a family to gift the extra to. I messaged her since Be The Joy had just gifted a family of a Mom and 2 young kids whose husband/father passed away the month prior. They certainly were the perfect candidate for the home cooked meal and were extremely grateful.

Sharlene was always happy to help others when she was physically able and we are happy to pull the community together to help make this happen for her.

***PSA: While we absolutely appreciate the offers of gently used mattresses to gift .. we are going with Mattress Firm in Brookhaven because they will handle the delivery & setup as well as hauling away and disposing the old mattress. We here at Be The Joy don't have the means to transport a mattress at this time. Thank you for understanding!
