Uniting Passion, Purpose, and the Power to Change Lives
Hi, I’m KeShawna Kitchens!
I am incredibly pumped and honored to embark on the Chance of a Lifetime (COAL) Season 5 adventure – from May 2025 to August 2026 --- a 15-month journey that promises growth, service, and transformation. I never could have imagined to be on a ride such as this with God and his people. Stepping into unfamiliar environments, sharing God’s love, and witnessing his goodness. This program is giving me the chance to have my eyes opened to the ways God is working all around the world and being used by God strengthens my desire to live a life of servitude. COAL has partnered with God in raising up leaders to plant seeds and take part in sharing the Gospel with confidence. In the next 15-months I will be changed and passionate about changing lives.
Why I’m Taking This Journey
Adventure stirs up the risk-taker within me. To be given the opportunity to live out my faith away from home, friends, and comfort is shell shocking but “why not” was the leading thought in my head. While making my decision to apply I was torn between jumping straight into earning my master’s or taking a gap year. I was reminded that I am young and in one of the best stages to be used by God as nothing is holding me back.
I remember experiencing a whirlwind of emotions, one emotion that led me towards a decision to apply was curiosity. Each question confronted attributes, qualities, and stories I did not realize had potential to glorify the Lord. Following my application, the interviews created lingering feelings of anticipation, and I felt encouraged by God as everything rolled off my tongue. I felt truly excited that maybe this could really be my next big thing!
I personally desire to grow in my communication skills, becoming more compassionate, fearless, and impactful. I am committed to deepening my love for others who may be completely different from me. Jesus was compassionate in how he talked and walked, and I want that part of him to minister to me in this journey. My vision of impact I hope to make includes offering support, encouragement, zeal amongst the body of Christ and soon to be disciples. I am eager to share photos, videos, and influx of emotions with you – My hope is that you are prepared to see God move through his creation, what an amazing opportunity this will be.
