This Giving Tuesday, make a meaningful impact with H.Y.P.E. to Empower, Inc., as we transform the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS, particularly in Georgia, where HIV rates are among the highest in the nation. Our mission centers on providing vital health services, education, and advocacy for youth, women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and families facing significant health disparities.

Empowering Health, Education, and Advocacy in Our Communities

H.Y.P.E. to Empower is committed to uplifting youth, young adults, and families impacted by HIV/AIDS across Georgia and beyond. Metro Atlanta, with one of the nation’s highest HIV prevalence rates, especially affects Black communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, women, and trans women of color. These communities often face systemic barriers; for instance, Black women account for 61% of HIV diagnoses among women nationally, and trans women of color experience HIV rates nearly 20 times that of the general population. In the Southern U.S., where over 50% of new HIV diagnoses occur, access to consistent care is critically limited, making community-centered support more essential than ever.

Our Programs and Impact

HIV Health Education and Literacy: Through workshops and resources, we equip individuals to make informed health decisions. Recent evaluations show 85% of our participants report increased HIV prevention knowledge, and a 60% reduction in stigma among marginalized groups, including women and trans women of color.
Advocacy and Community Influence: Locally and nationally, we work to increase healthcare access, reduce stigma, and support community-based HIV services. To date, we’ve engaged over 1,000 community members in discussions around health equity and reached an additional 650,000 people through digital advocacy.
New Initiative: HIV Health and Linkage Services: In response to Georgia’s high HIV diagnosis rates and healthcare barriers, our new HIV Health and Linkage Services program offers accessible HIV testing, counseling, and medical and mental health referrals. We project a 75% increase in treatment understanding and a 50% boost in care plan adherence, creating a support network that empowers individuals with essential resources.
