Bringing food and hope to Iyoyo Village

The life of Laurie Robinson was tragically cut short in April 2024 after being killed by a hit and run driver.

Laurie was a devout Christian who cherished her Faith and dedicated her life to spreading its teachings.

Laurie came to Tanzania with Water 4 Mercy in July 2023 to 'Come and See' after interviewing their founder and CEO Nermine Khouzam Rubin for an article highlighting "Works of Mercy' commissioned by the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. She witnessed firsthand the plight of those who are thirsty and hungry.

She experienced ״turning on the taps״ for Iyoyo Village, bringing clean water to 3,229 villagers, which she was fortunate to witness with us. Laurie's own thirst for knowledge and understanding was contagious - her love for each member of our group – their story and mission, coupled with the plight of the water and agricultural programming beneficiaries, was something she wished to tell the world.

Now it is time to bring the agricultural components to Iyoyo. Not only does this provide sustenance and a livelihood for many, it also symbolizes creation – using the land to produce and cultivate a brighter and sustainable future.

We believe this is an opportune message to remember the life of Laurie Robinson and help those in Iyoyo Village who are in need of nutritional security.

Over the next three months we need to raise $35,000 to kickstart this programmatic phase.

In honor of Laurie, let's support Iyoyo Village and bring them Agriculture!
