I started working for the YMCA at just 15 years old as a Summer Day Camp Counselor, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. It gave me the opportunity to work with youth and witness firsthand the incredible impact the Y has on the community. The YMCA is so much more than a gym. It provides a safe space for people of all ages to learn to swim, stay active, and build meaningful connections. It fosters a sense of belonging, supports families with vital resources, and creates opportunities for a healthier, more engaged life. Through some of the toughest times in my life, the Y kept me moving forward. It gave me purpose, friendships, and mentors who shaped the person I am today. I am stronger, more resilient, and deeply committed to giving back because of the Y. Now, I have the privilege of paying it forward.
