Dear Friend of Camp Mac Boykin,

Since 1952, Camp Mac Boykin has been a place where children discover confidence, build friendships, and experience the joy of the outdoors. Founded through the generosity of YMCA supporter Mac Willie Shannon Boykin—who left land and a portion of his estate to the YMCA of Sumter—this special place was created to ensure all children have access to meaningful summer experiences.

Tucked within Manchester State Forest near Pinewood and Wedgefield, Camp Mac Boykin has served thousands of youth across more than four generations. As we approach our 74th anniversary in 2026, we are inspired by both our legacy and our future, one where even more children can grow, explore, and thrive in a safe, nurturing outdoor environment.

Camp Mac Boykin has always been a place of growth, discovery, and connection. Now, we have an opportunity to build on that legacy.

To meet the growing needs of our community, we are launching a transformative campaign to create a modern, four-season camp experience—one that serves youth, families, and groups year-round.
