125 Years Strong. Countless Lives Changed.

In 1901, Hattie Griffin and Myrtle Huff saw a need in Elgin and helped create a place where women could find connection, opportunity, and support. For 125 years, YWCA Elgin has grown with its community while staying true to its mission: eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.

That mission is alive today. Adults build skills and confidence through education programs. Young people discover their creativity and potential. Families find support, connection, and opportunities to move forward. Each person’s story is different, and each one is part of YWCA Elgin’s story.

From November 1 through December 31, 2026, we’re celebrating 125 Years Strong by raising $50,000, with a stretch goal of $125,000, to support the work ahead.

Will you be part of the next chapter? Make a gift today, share this campaign with someone you know, or invite others to give alongside you. Whether you give $25, $125, or another amount meaningful to you, your support helps YWCA Elgin continue showing up for our community.

125 years of strength. Countless lives changed. And more stories still to come.
