The Yard Dogs are going to Cooperstown! This is an opportunity of a lifetime for this amazing group of boys to participate in the Cooperstown All Star Village Tournament in July 2024.

While this is a phenomenal opportunity, it is expensive and we want to make sure all of our players can participate. We hope you'll consider donating to help make this dream come true. Funds will help offset the costs for lodging, tournament registration, umpires and meals for all players. Your support will be incredibly helpful in allowing the entire team to participate.

DID YOU KNOW? We will be the FIRST team from our town to participate in this tournament. The boys want to start a tradition...creating a legacy and path for younger kids to do the same in the years to come!

Families of South Orange Maplewood Yard Dogs 12U Baseball Team

The Yard Dogs was formed in 2021 by a small group of South Orange and Maplewood parents. The goal was simple: train these boys as a club team so that they would be prepared to play in the Cooperstown All Star Village Tournament. And this is the year!
The Yard Dogs is not organized by the town or school district nor is it sponsored by a business. Unlike neighboring towns, that organize and sponsor year-round club teams, South Orange/Maplewood does not offer year-round baseball training or team play. The Yard Dogs has aimed to fill this void and provide opportunities for our kids to train and play throughout the year in order to remain competitive.
The Cooperstown All Star Village Tournament is held every summer for U12 teams from across the country. It runs for one week, with the team playing two games a day for six straight days. The experience also includes a homerun derby and skills challenges as well as opening and closing ceremonies!
The Tournament is held at a sprawling baseball facility in Oneonta, NY and the Yard Dogs will be participating July 19-25, 2024. We hope friends and family will join us in July to cheer on our Yard Dogs...thank you again for your support!
