YouthNet is moving fast to offer even MORE mental health support to all the teens in our community!

…And your donations play a major role as YouthNet continues to keep its commitment to all SOMA youth by offering after school programming where students are engaged, creative and challenged in a safe space. On this Giving Tuesday and beyond, we are grateful for the faith you have placed in YouthNet, as we work to expand opportunities for all students of South Orange and Maplewood.

In 2024, YouthNet, a 501(c)(3), supported over 1.000 students in 126 clubs at SOMS and MMS. That meant 1,000 young members of our community, were NOT on their devices or home alone, but INVOLVED with friends and new found interests. At CHS, we served students by offering Open Gym after school, as well as summer internships in local businesses and organizations where students gained real life experience. We couldn’t have done this without your help.

But we want to DO EVEN MORE!!!

We are excited to report that YouthNet was awarded grants from the South Mountain YMCA's Ellie and Charlie Gianni Impact Grant, the Maplewood Foundation and the New Jersey American Water Charitable Foundation to help institute an ongoing mental health component into our club programming. This new program will help young people to identify their emotional responses in stressful situations, and then guide them as they learn to understand how to manage and leverage these feeling for their own benefit. We are so grateful for this generosity, but these monies fall short of the full costs of instituting this meaningful program.
