At Uptown Stories, we believe that if you can write your story, you can write the world.

Sometimes you just need a little help.

Whether it’s finding your voice, your people, or your place in the world, Uptown Stories is here to help. Since 2014, we’ve helped more than 3,000 kids in upper Manhattan imagine, draft, discuss, revise, perform, and finally publish over 13,000 pages of original work. As a result, our students not only understand how to write, they know that their story matters. Their grades have gone up, they feel more happy and confident, they express themselves more clearly, and they’ve made life-long friends. Their time at Uptown Stories has given them teachers who believe in them, peers who encourage them, and the knowledge that they can accomplish whatever they set out to do.

Now it’s our turn to ask for help! Please consider making a generous donation, so Uptown Stories can offer the young people of our community what they need: a place that is their own, where their voices are heard, and where they can be themselves. Nearly 80% of our families pay reduced tuition thanks to our Pay-What-You-Can policy, and that is only possible with your support.
