This is a little different from our normal dog house sponsor fundraisers. This little girl is SNOOPY. She is about 11 years old and weighs around 17 pounds. Snoopy needs surgery for a tumor as soon as possible....

How did we get involved in this? We sent an insulated dog house and straw out to another dog in Snoopy's family and while we were talking to her mom we found out that they had a small inside dog named Snoopy who has a tumor near her hind end. A vet had been out earlier this year and examined her and said it showed signs of being malignant and could be a complicated surgery. The family does not have the money to pay for the flights, or surgery, even when done at a discounted rate. They love Snoopy and do want to try to do what they can to save her.

We reached out to our friends at the Alaska Rural Veterinary Outreach (ARVO) and Alaska Native Rural Veterinary (ANRV) to see if they could help Snoopy if we raised the funds to cover her expenses. Both agencies said YES! So we are working on who is going to take care of this little girl but in the meantime we are starting the fundraiser.

Snoopy lives in Napakiak, her family is going to drive her to the vet in Bethel for an exam and x-rays as soon as they can get an appointment. That will give us a better idea of how complicated the surgery will be and where it should be done. She will likely have to fly to Anchorage or Fairbanks depending on which group takes over. We will cover the flights if we can't get them donated, exam, x-rays, and the surgery costs. we are going to estimate and start at $1,000 we will know more after the exam and x-rays.

If you would like to help little Snoopy please donate here. Thank you so much to everyone in advance for helping this sweet little puppy!
