Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville personally thank you for making a personal donation to our cause. Your thoughtful support empowers our agency to effect change in the Clarksville, Montgomery County and Fort Campbell and surrounding community. I’d like to share with you the words of a previous Big Sister from our program: “Sometimes you don’t realize the impact someone can make in your life, especially a child.”

In December of 2011, when I was 23, I joined the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville program as a mentor and was matched with an 11-year-old named Christina. I had joined the program because I wanted to give back. She joined the program because her mother wanted her to do better in school and to be more outgoing.

She was very shy at first, but gradually began to feel comfortable around me. We have been there for each other through so many stages of life. We stayed in contact through divorces, moves, new babies, new schools. We each have so many memories that include the other one. My daughter took her first steps at my Little Sister’s house!

Now, Christina is 24. She has grown into a strong and independent young woman, living several states away and working in construction to support herself. Even though she moved and aged out of the BBBS program, we still talk, Facetime and send each other little gifts. We are celebrating 14 years of being “Big Sister and Little Sister.” Christina will always be my forever sister.
