I am Alex, a 21-year-old trans woman navigating life with the added complexity of cerebral palsy. Living in Florida has posed significant challenges for me, especially in the realm of healthcare. The prevailing attitudes and practices of medical professionals towards transgender individuals in this state have forced me into a position where I have to conceal my true identity from almost everyone around me. My earnest aspiration is to move to a state where my identity is not just recognized but also respected and supported. This change would enable me to seek medical care openly and find a community where I can be accepted and celebrated for who I truly am.

Life in a group home presents daily trials. My personal autonomy is severely constrained, compounded by the need to hide my transgender identity in an environment marred by transphobia. I am currently undertaking DIY hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in secrecy, a critical part of my transition. The constant fear of discovery, of losing my home, or worse, facing violence for being true to myself, weighs heavily on me each day.

My dream is a simple yet profound one: to move out of Florida to a place where I can live with dignity, authenticity, and safety. To transform this dream into a reality, I am reaching out for your support. Your generous contributions will assist with:
