My name is Jeff LaVoie,

I grew up in Montana and graduated from Flathead High School. I learned to rock climb, mountain bike, hike and camp here. I love the Flathead Valley. I am also a recovering drug addict and alcoholic. If it weren’t for the help of others, I don’t know where my life would be or if I would still have one. I am giving back to the community that I love because I see it hurting. In this paradise, we have a housing problem, an income problem, and a drug problem. Last year there were 17 reported fatal drug overdoses and 154 EMS calls for suspected overdoses. The homeless population in the Flathead Valley is second only to Missoula, with a rough count of over 300 sons, daughters, mothers and fathers without a stable home.

I want to help where I can. I have been homeless. I have been to the crippling depths of active addiction. I got pulled up and out by some very loving people, and I am forever thankful and extremely lucky to have them in my life. I am passing this on to some less fortunate people, and I am humbly asking for your help. I am in the process of opening up an 8-bed sober living house for women in the Flathead Valley. This is just a start… but it’s a start for women who are looking for a new chance to get their lives back and find a quality life in this paradise we call home.

With the help of some really good people, I created AFoundation Sober Living INC. This is a Non-profit company designed to help people who want to help themselves get better.

Thank you for your consideration and generosity.
