The Ballroom at Bayou Place
500 Texas Street | Downtown Houston

The Buffalo Soldiers National Museum preserves the legacy of Black American military service.

As the Museum celebrates its 25th anniversary and commemorates 160 years since the establishment of the Buffalo Soldier regiments, we invite you to experience a milestone evening honoring the past while looking toward the Museum’s next chapter and its highly anticipated Grand Reopening in 2027.

On November 6, history moves beyond the Museum walls.

Join civic leaders, veterans, corporate partners, artists, and community champions for A Soldier Soirée: Honor in Color, a fully curated experience where Black military history comes to life through art, fashion, music, movement, food, and storytelling.

Throughout the evening, guests will experience a contemporary interpretation of the spirit of the USO dance hall, live music and cultural performances, a special Camp Logan tribute, the Honor in Color wearable art exhibition and silent auction, live art, auction experiences, and educational moments inspired by generations of Black military service.

The evening begins with cocktails and experiences at 6:30 p.m., with the cocktail reception concluding at 7:30 p.m. Dinner and program seating begins at 7:30 p.m. At 9:00 p.m., the evening begins to shift into After Party vibes with music, art, fashion, and celebration.

This is more than a traditional gala. It is a fully curated experience designed to bring the Museum beyond its walls while celebrating 25 years of preserving stories that deserve to be seen, heard, and remembered.

Your Participation Carries the Legacy Forward

Funds raised through the Soirée help BSNM educate thousands of young people, preserve archives and cultural collections, support veterans and military families, develop exhibitions and public programs, and prepare to welcome new audiences through the Museum’s reopening.

With a goal of $525,000, every sponsorship, table, ticket, auction purchase, and charitable gift helps ensure that this history remains accessible to generations to come.

Take your place in this historic celebration.
