A Taste of the Season is Company OnStage’s inaugural community baking competition and celebration, bringing together families, local businesses, culinary enthusiasts and theatre lovers to kick off our 2026–2027 Season. Bakers will compete in either the professional or home/student division to create show‑inspired cakes, celebrity judges, including Michelin Star Chef Felipe Riccio, select standout designs and tasty creations, and guests enjoy a day of creativity, connection, and community pride. All cakes will be prepared off-site and transported to the event for display and tasting. All proceeds support professional‑quality theatre at an affordable price at our theatre located in Southwest Houston.

Schedule of Events

8:30 - 10am - Bakers move in and set up their cakes
10 - 11am - Blind Judging
11am - Doors open to the public - view the cakes, enjoy a tasting experience, vote for your favorites, enjoy activities
2:30pm - Award Ceremony

"Best of" and "Fan Favorite" Prizes will be awarded in each category

About Company OnStage

The Company OnStage, Inc. (COS) was founded in 1977 by Joyce Randall McNally, a former Alley Theatre Associate Director, and Hank McNally, her husband. It all started when Joyce began offering acting classes for children and adults in the Westbury area of Southwest Houston. Later, a small space in Westbury Square was rented, and in spring 1978, COS presented its first season of two children’s shows, The Wizard of Oz and Aladdin and His Magic Lamp. We now present 10 shows each season with five productions in our Evening Series for adults, and five productions in our Young Audience Series geared for children from ages 4 - 12.

Company OnStage operates solely through the efforts of volunteers under the guidance of its Board of Directors. The theatre is funded by ticket sales, season ticket purchases, donations from corporations, foundations, gifts from private individuals, and through special fundraising events. As we have been since our founding, COS remains dedicated to keeping live theatre accessible and affordable.
