Why now

The Lancet projects 14 million people will die as a result of cuts to foreign assistance programs. Numbers that large become invisible. Our job is to make them visible.

The Foundation documents the consequences of the cuts: the clinics closed, the programs ended, the people behind every statistic. We publish research. We tell stories. We provide nonpartisan education to students, journalists, community leaders, and policymakers who need to understand what is at stake.

We also invest in the next generation. The dismantlement of USAID did not just end programs abroad. It closed a career path for thousands of young Americans who planned to spend their lives in development. The Foundation keeps that path open. We run essay contests that ask students what American leadership could build. We host educational programs with the people who built American development policy. We train the young people who will one day rebuild it.

Who pays for this

No corporation or billionaire funds any part of our work. We rely solely on individual Americans who believe our country should do the right thing.
