Whether we’re teaching children to plant okra in a community center garden, sending worms to schools (in bins) for composting, or organizing Seedy Saturday, our region’s only seed swap, we strive to help Montgomery grow.

When you donate to E.A.T. South, you support critical garden programs like our Community Composting project - work that would not exist in Montgomery without you. This year we recycled a ton of food waste - and that’s just the beginning. We can make the quality compost that Montgomery’s gardens need when you support our work.

Your contribution becomes garden education for all ages. This year, we taught more than three thousand people through youth after school and summer programs, at community events, and during more than fifty classes on everything from organic gardening to native plants to composting with worms. Our classes are free and open to everyone.

Gifts to E.A.T. South make community celebrations like Seedy Saturday happen. Our 8th Annual Seedy Saturday is January 11, 10-12, at the Juliette Hampton Morgan Memorial Library (245 High Street). Everyone who attends leaves with seeds to start their own garden. This year we're adding a tool swap so that old tools can find homes with new gardeners.
