27 Kilometers for 27 Days for the Heaven's 27

Benefiting the Heaven's 27 Fund of the San Antonio Area Foundation.

Retired U.S. Navy SEAL Aaron Kendle is leading the inaugural Run to Remember for the Heaven’s 27 Foundation. Aaron was a part of the Special Operations Force’s Search and Recover Team that aided the Texas Department of Public Safety and other first responders in the search for victims of the Kerrville Flood on July 4th, 2025. As a husband and father of two young daughters, there was a calling and duty to help however he could. It was during this time that Aaron connected with some of the families of the missing girls from Camp Mystic. Over the following weeks and months, he formed a close relationship with many of the fathers and families of the Heaven's 27. Inspired by each girl’s story along with their families’ strength, resilience, and faith through this tragedy, Aaron will be running 27 kilometers for 27 days to honor the 27 girls who lost their lives.

Aaron is honored to be joined by two other fathers and close friends from the community who also have close ties to the tragedy and the families. Bobby Contreras and Clint Oncken both volunteered to take on the challenge to remember the Heaven’s 27. Bobby is a husband, father to two girls, local pastor, and Chaplain for the Alamo Heights Police and Fire departments. He volunteered helping affected families during the following weeks after the flooding. It is a profound privilege for him to continue his ministry, dedicating every mile to sacrifice, hope, and praising God. Clint is also a husband and father to two young boys and has close, personal ties to some of the Heaven’s 27 families. It was also on his heart and mind to find a way to honor, remember, and give praise to God for Heaven’s 27.

Together, they run to honor and preserve the memory of those 27 lives lived and lost while raising funds for the Heaven’s 27 Foundation. Donations will be equally distributed to each girl’s fund. From there, the individual families will use their portion to better their communities by providing scholarships, funding youth programs, supporting vulnerable groups, and spreading joy and hope in the girl’s names.
