The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence reports that 99% of abusive relationships involve financial abuse. Financial abuse looks different in every relationship. This may include, but is not limited to: restricting access to money, controlling how funds are spent, withholding documents needed for employment, or opening credit accounts without consent. This is also one of the main reasons survivors often lack the means to leave an abusive situation.

At Andrée Collective, we believe that knowledge is power which is why we offer free financial literacy classes to help survivors learn how to manage their money. In addition, Andrée Collective provides employment opportunities, giving survivors the chance to earn income and rebuild independence.

For this year’s Giving Tuesday, we are raising money for a Survivor’s Fund. Our goal is to provide unrestricted financial support by putting power back into survivors’ hands. With your help, we can offer direct cash assistance to fill the gaps where community resources fall short.
