At the Adelanto ICE Processing Center in California's Mojave Desert, over 2,000 people are held far from their families and communities. Many are detained in raids and have no criminal record at all. Those who do have a prior record have already closed their cases within the legal system: they have done what the law asked of them. Inside detention, even small necessities cost money, and many detainees have no way to pay for them.

We're raising funds to put money directly into detainees' commissary accounts. These funds go to detainees we are visiting with in person, as well as others they recommend to us. That money makes a real difference every day, helping people afford:

Phone and video calls to stay connected with family, loved ones, and attorneys
Hygiene items like soap, toothpaste, deodorant, and shampoo
Snacks and food to supplement "chow" inside
Basic supplies like stamps, paper, and other small essentials

For someone in detention, a funded commissary account means staying in touch with the people they love and holding onto a bit of dignity during an incredibly difficult time. Every dollar goes toward making that possible.
