Who is Aetna Street Solidarity?

Aetna Street Solidarity is a community-led mutual aid organization based in the San Fernando Valley. In opposition to the criminalization of the unhoused in Los Angeles, we have spent over 6 years developing public and free neighborhood solidarity economies and supportive people's programs by and for the San Fernando Valley community.

What we do:

Our events take over public space-- not only sharing resources, but also fostering kinship, shared joy, shared grief, and a commitment to community solidarity, care, and protection. These projects include weekly community nights and monthly Really, Really Free Markets, where you can enjoy food, music, arts, clothing, wellness services, medical care, legal support, and more. Everything you find at our events are free for all to take, share, and give without having to prove need or worthiness.

Our newest project:

We are excited to partner with Shared Wellness to open a beautiful new community hub in the San Fernando Valley. 🎉

Alongside our current outdoor programs, we will now have a space to make even more ideas flourish in a central location, rain or shine. Please join us in the co-creation of this third space! We are currently seeking to raise $2,500 in monthly donations, or $30,000 for the year, to sustain the location for its first year. Any amount you can contribute helps to keep this space free and accessible to all.
