For 7 years, ACHMC has connected Alabama's under-resourced families to vital healthcare, food, housing, and educational resources while providing direct grants to address child hunger and poverty across the state's 67 counties.

But the work is not done! Despite seven years of progress, Alabama's most vulnerable families still face overwhelming challenges: children sleeping on floors, weekend food insecurity affecting thousands of students, and limited access to healthcare in rural communities. The gap between available resources and those who need them remains wide, demanding continued commitment and expanded capacity to ensure every child has the foundation for a healthy, hopeful future."

We believe that when our work succeeds, Alabama families thrive with dignity—children sleep in their own beds and arrive at school ready to learn, mothers know exactly where to find help through their phones, and rural communities have sustainable food sources through local gardens and accessible nutrition programs. That's why we're working to reach our 2025 Annual Fund goal so we are in the financial position to launch Project Daily Bread in 2026, a three-year initiative that will bring comprehensive food security solutions to Perry, Sumter, and Hale counties through community gardens, nutritional education, and SNAP enrollment support.
