Our dear friend, a Dalit leader in our networks, recently attempted suicide and is hospitalized in the ICU. They are multiply marginalized by their caste, gender, and sexuality. We are fundraising for their hospital bills, post-hospital care, and recovery. Aftercare will focus on intensive therapy, somatic work, and potentially residential care. The estimated cost of intensive aftercare is $15,000 to $20,000.

Our friend has struggled with depression and complex PTSD stemming from multiple traumas, including ongoing harassment for their anti-caste activism and their identity, intergenerational, and childhood trauma. In weeks and months leading up to the attempt, they were increasingly isolated due to being multiply marginalized, and were not able to access adequate mental healthcare due to lack of funds. We have leaned on them as they led us through anti-caste, racial justice, and equity work in their goals towards healing the world. Now we seek to support their healing.
