After School Anarchy is a direct action collective founded and led by BIPOC youth organizers. Our goals are to give youth a sense of self sufficiency and autonomy through mutual aid and skill shares, and to provide unhoused folks with temporary relief and harm reduction.

Our main activities include:

Workshops to promote youth autonomy and self sufficiency through art, skillsharing, and other events. Resource fairs, clothing swaps, free shops, book readings, art classes, life skills workshops such as changing car oil and servicing swamp coolers.
Building a sense of community amongst youth via participation in weekly distribution of food, and hygiene and harm reduction supplies to unhoused peoples. Teens develop a civic responsibility that is profoundly rooted in mutual aid.
Weekly food, hygiene, and harm reduction distribution focused on the south, southwest and central Tucson areas, but youth participants come from all over town. We go directly to encampments to deliver hot meals and supplies to unhoused people. We serve about 50-60 folks weekly, with the majority identifying as bipoc.
Connecting youth with local resources such as queer support, scholarships for undocumented students, etc.
Providing low income bipoc youth with opportunities that may be financially out of reach and historically unavailable to them. Art classes, skills workshops, etc raise economic opportunity for disadvantaged and marginalized teens by giving them jobskills. Increasing social connections between youth and unhoused people are built through weekly outreach.
