Agua Para Nuestra Gente 💧🇵🇷

What began as an emergency response has become something much bigger.

When Somos El Cambio PR launched Agua Para Nuestra Gente, Puerto Rican families were experiencing prolonged water service interruptions, leaving households without reliable access to one of life’s most basic necessities: water.

We asked our community to help us respond.

And you did.

We reached our original fundraising goal. Then we increased it to $5,000—and together, we reached that too.

Because of your generosity, we have been able to turn donations into action on the ground in Puerto Rico.

💧 What your support has already helped us do:

• Purchase and distribute drinking water

• Deliver water directly to families and individuals in need

• Support elders and vulnerable households

• Assist with food and other essential needs

• Support community distribution efforts

• Work alongside churches, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, and organizers already serving families throughout Puerto Rico

But through this work, one thing has become increasingly clear:

The need does not end with bottled water.

Bottled water provides critical relief today.

Now, we also want to help create water security for tomorrow.

That’s why we’re expanding Agua Para Nuestra Gente to help fund and install complete cistern systems for families, community spaces, and other locations where reliable access to running water can make a lasting difference.

🏠 $2,600 = One Complete Cistern System

Approximately $2,600 can provide a complete system, including the cistern, pressure pump, installation, maintenance, warranty, and the components necessary to make the system operational.

One installation can mean that when water service is interrupted again, a household or community space has another layer of protection.

But we’re NOT stopping the immediate relief.

As we raise funds for cistern systems, Somos El Cambio PR will continue supporting drinking-water distributions and responding to immediate community needs.

This next phase is about doing both:

💧 Providing immediate relief to people who need water today.

🏠 Investing in longer-term solutions that help our communities prepare for tomorrow.

We’ve increased our campaign goal to $15,000 because the need continues—and because this community has already shown us what’s possible when we come together.
