Skills for Tomorrow Scholarship Campaign, Fall 2026

Over the past six years, your generosity has funded nearly 100 vocational and healthcare graduates in Somaliland. These young men and women are now working as nurses, midwives, welders, fabricators, and electricians, earning for their families and serving their communities.

This spring, AHDI-Promise is launching the Skills for Tomorrow Scholarship Campaign to fund Fall 2026 tuition for the next cohort of students entering vocational and healthcare training programs.

Where things stand.

We are currently sponsoring 13 students, including 7 aspiring nurses. Over the past five years, you have helped us raise nearly $100,000. All of it goes directly to tuition for students who have the determination and academic ability but lack the financial means to train.

Why this matters.

In Somaliland, fewer than 1 in 3 primary-age children are enrolled in school, and the median age is 16. The vast majority of the country’s young people have no accessible pathway into a skilled livelihood. Vocational and healthcare training breaks that cycle. Each graduate returns to their community with the capacity to earn, employ others, and in the case of nursing and midwifery graduates, deliver care where it is most urgently needed.

What your donation does.

It puts one student through a full training program. Not in the abstract. A specific person, in a specific trade, returning to a specific community. When you support a student, you are funding the economic and healthcare infrastructure of an entire neighborhood.
