Aaliyah in Action has grown far beyond what we ever could have anticipated. The volume of packages we now send to hospital partners and individual families across the country has increased significantly, and with that growth we’ve learned an important operational reality: our current packaging, while meaningful and thoughtfully designed, is not always arriving in the condition we expect or are most proud of.

To maintain the level of dignity and care every family deserves, we need to transition to a stronger, more durable package that can withstand national shipping and high-volume distribution.

We are already working with a supplier, and the upgraded package has been fully designed. Our goal for this campaign is $5,000 (for Aaliyah's 5th birthday), which will cover the cost of producing 2,000 upgraded packages—the quantity we anticipate needing for 2026 as we continue to expand nationwide.

Aaliyah’s 5th birthday coinciding with Giving Tuesday created the perfect opportunity to fund this specific enhancement to our program.

Upgrading to a more durable, keepsake-style package will allow us to:

Ensure packages arrive safely and consistently, without damage, regardless of distance or shipping volume.
Ship individual requests without an additional shipping box, reducing materials and streamlining fulfillment.
Eliminate the need for bubble wrap and excessive protective materials in our hospital shipments.
Lower shipping costs by allowing us to redesign our group-of-ten cartons more efficiently.
Provide families with a sturdy keepsake box they can hold onto long-term—something more durable than our current packaging allows.
Align with our updated branding, using eco-friendly materials and branded tissue paper to elevate presentation and experience.

This upgrade ensures that every package reflects the quality, consistency, and compassion that define Aaliyah in Action—while also improving sustainability and operational efficiency for the hospitals and families we serve.
