I go to Blythedale every year for my own testing, and each time I visit, I see so many kids who are very sick. Some of them live there, and some come every day for rehab. Seeing them always made me feel sad, and I’ve always wished I could help them somehow.

Now I finally can....

Blythedale helps children with serious medical issues — like brain injuries, cancer, and neuromuscular disorders — so they can get stronger and hopefully go home to their families. Many of these families also struggle financially and really need support. That’s why I want my project to help give kids and their families the extra things they need to feel more comfortable, happy, and cared for.

Blythedale Children's Hospital provides the very best in medical, therapeutic and support services to 2,500 children and their families in the tri-state region and beyond every year. Your donation will help change the lives of children with complex medical illnesses and disabling conditions by supporting Blythedale's superb multi-disciplinary care, teaching, research and advocacy programs.

All proceeds from Alex's mitzvah project will benefit Blythedale's Day Hospital Program. The Day Hospital is Blythedale's specialty outpatient program for children who are able to live at home, but still require a level of medical and/or rehabilitative care that cannot be met by their school or a community outpatient program. Children admitted to the Program receive daily medical supervision and nursing care, comprehensive rehabilitation services (physical, occupational, speech and/or feeding therapy), and education through the Mt. Pleasant Blythedale Union Free School District (UFSD).
