In 2001, 17-year-old Alissa Turney disappeared on the last day of her junior year of high school in Phoenix, Arizona. She was quickly labeled a runaway, and no formal missing persons investigation was opened in the immediate aftermath of her disappearance. That early classification shaped the response to her case and delayed the urgency it deserved. More than two decades later, Alissa’s whereabouts remain unknown.

For the first time in 25 years, an official search for Alissa Turney is taking place.
