WHY we started? 10 years ago, our life fell apart when Allyson passed away after a 14 month diagnosis from a rare cancer called small cell cervical. She was beautiful, kind and giving. Ally asked her family to assist others while she underwent chemo and radiation. She looked forward to the day she could be an advocate for an underserved demographic of young adults battling cancer. Ally bonded with a support group of "sisters" banding together to fight for their cancer, which only 100 a year would be diagnosed in the United States with. Ally wanted to help emotionally and financially; she wanted to make a difference to others. She started with the video...

NEXT: As we banded together to begin the journey: The logo band ball was designed to represent All Cancers Matter. We held our 1st fundraiser in May 2012 to honor her. Allyson Whitney Foundation became a 501(c)(3) charity and the giving in her name began! Young adults ages 16-40 get a rarer form of a main disease such as colon, breast and names you can't pronounce! Since inception:

AWF granted $420,983.66 in Life Interrupted Grants™
AWF reached 386 cancer patients and their families
AWF has donated $100,000 to research under the stewardship of Dr. Michael Frumovitz at MD Anderson Cancer Center
AWF delivered 425 HOPE comfort to New York and CA oncology suites

WHY we continue? Ally was a shining light on us all. Her pursuit to help, became our pursuit. We all became better individuals because of her. Our dedicated volunteer team and supporters are kind and giving just as she was. Also, we met the most amazing people along the way.

NOW: We will celebrate Ally 10 years later and all the accomplishments made possible by so many! Her spirit still surrounds us and we are grateful. Our 5K cannot happen right now due to the Covid-19 pandemic (our big group loves to hug and socialize). But, we still need to acknowledge this 10 YEAR milestone. Ally loved sprinkles! So, an idea of Sprinkle Kindness was born!
