Over the past 18 months, the guys in our unit, Alog 99, have given everything. Many of us have logged close to 200 days of reserve duty between advanced training and active service across multiple fronts. Two hundred days away from our families, our jobs, our lives.

During that time, one reality kept hitting us hard: the equipment we were issued. Bulletproof vests and helmets dating back to the 1970s and 80s. Gear that was outdated before most of us were born. Protective equipment that directly affects whether we come home in one piece.

In the coming weeks, our unit is heading back to the Gaza border and rotating in and out of operations over the next two to four months. This time, we made a decision as a group. We are raising funds to secure proper, modern protective equipment for our soldiers. Every dollar goes directly to gear.

We are fathers, husbands, business owners, and professionals who dropped everything to serve. We did it willingly. But we refuse to accept that the men standing next to us on the line are wearing protection that belongs in a museum.
