I’m starting this scholarship fund because even though I’ve worked really hard throughout high school, paying for college still feels challenging. I’ve taken rigorous courses like AP and dual enrollment, stayed involved in leadership roles such as President of the Research Club and the National Technical Honor Society, and pushed myself in everything from academics to extracurriculars. I plan to study marine biology and data science, and have already conducted research in Biscayne Bay, which I’m really passionate about, and earned me a Silver Knight Nomination in the Science category. I want to use what I learn to make a real impact, especially when it comes to the environment. Even with scholarships like Bright Futures, there are still high costs like housing, which is around $3,700 per semester. Like a lot of students, I’m trying to balance school, future goals, and finances all at once. A part-time job helps, but it’s not always enough. I’m starting this fund to help stay focused on my education and the goals I’ve been working toward. Any support means a lot and helps me keep moving forward toward my future.
