I'm Christian Amend, a proud husband, father, veteran, and longtime Johnson County resident. I bring a unique mix of leadership experience, from military service to business ownership, that helps me see challenges through a solutions-first lens.

As a parent of public school students myself, and a longtime scout leader, I’m deeply invested in the future of our schools. I’ve seen firsthand how strong values, clear expectations, and community engagement can shape confident, capable young people.

I’m running for school board to help our district achieve better academic outcomes, stronger support for teachers, and fiscal discipline that respects our taxpayers. I believe in service over politics, and I’m ready to lead with integrity, accountability, and a steady hand.

Why I'm Running

I’m not a politician, I’m a dad of two public school students, small business owner, and a community volunteer. As a scout leader and engineer, I’ve led teams, solved tough problems, and served with discipline and integrity. I’m running for school board because I believe in strengthening our schools through steady leadership, responsible spending, and a commitment to student success. I want to bring our community together around what matters most: great education, strong values, and smart decisions.

My Mission

As a dad, I want our schools to give every kid the chance to succeed. That means focusing on learning, making smart decisions with our budget, and working together as a community.

My Platform

1. Fiscal Responsibility

Tax dollars should work harder. I’ll advocate for transparent budgeting and thoughtful investments that support classrooms and student outcomes without raising taxes.

2. Student Success

Every student deserves a quality education that prepares them for their next step, whether that’s college, a career, or service. I’ll support high standards and focus on outcomes that matter.

3. Family & Community Voice

Parents and teachers deserve a seat at the table. I’ll encourage open communication, engagement, and respect across the board.

4. Safe & Respectful Schools

Let’s ensure our classrooms are focused, safe, and respectful so every student can learn and grow. We can support both discipline and achievement.
