Join us for an intimate evening of art, music, food and conversation with internationally known artist Adeyemi “Yemi” Fagbohun.

Yemi's work has taken him around the world and into partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, major institutions and communities across the country. But behind the art is an extraordinary story—one that begins in Nigeria and spans continents, cultures and decades of creativity, entrepreneurship and community building.

In 2021, Yemi founded African Americans of Excellence (AAOE), bringing his passion for art, culture and community together to create opportunities for young people and celebrate the achievements and contributions of African Americans in Frederick County.

For one evening, you'll have the opportunity to hear Yemi's story directly from him at a home address in downtown Frederick provided after your RSVP. You will be surrounded by a small group of guests for an experience designed to feel more like a great gathering of friends.

And there's plenty more happening throughout the evening.

Enjoy delicious Nigerian Inspired food plus wine and beer, and a special performance by the Frederick Children's Chorus. Student artists from AAOE will also be creating live sketches of guests throughout the evening—giving you a one-of-a-kind piece of art to take home as a souvenir of the night.

Tickets are $100 per person. Attendance is limited.

Proceeds benefit African Americans of Excellence and its work creating opportunities for young people through art, education, culture and community.

Tax Information: $75 of each $100 ticket is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The estimated fair market value of goods and services provided is $25 per guest.
