Located on 17 acres in Kīlauea on the beautiful north shore of Kaua‘i, Anaina Hou Community Park exists to serve our island community. Every day, our campus provides free and low-cost access to recreation, entertainment, and youth enrichment programming—from our 17,000 sq. ft. playground and weekly Farmers’ Markets to our educational programs and beloved Concerts with a Cause series. These offerings are central to our mission, and we provide them because we believe every family, every keiki, and every visitor deserves a safe, joyful, and culturally rich place to gather.
But providing this level of access comes at a cost. Each year, Anaina Hou operates at a deficit so that our community can benefit without financial barriers. Our concerts, for example, are intentionally priced to remain accessible; many of them break even or even operate at a loss once artist fees, staffing, and production costs are factored in. We could charge more—but we choose not to—because accessibility and community impact matter more than profit.
As a nonprofit, we survive only through the generosity of donors, sponsors, and volunteers who believe in the value of what we provide. Your contribution directly supports the maintenance of our facilities, the continuation of free community spaces, and the delivery of youth and cultural programming that would otherwise be impossible. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps bridge the gap between what we earn and what it truly costs to keep Anaina Hou thriving.
