Anticipation is BUILDING at Harbor House!

Our first-floor renovations are nearing the finish line, and we can’t wait for our beloved community to experience our revitalized spaces.

Here’s what we’re building together:

A Strong Foundation: Food and Clothing Access

Like the steel support beams installed at the start of our renovation, Harbor House helps meet the basic needs of youth and families, providing a strong foundation from which they can grow and thrive. Through daily suppers for youth, biweekly grocery distributions for families, and an on-site children’s clothing store, your generosity helps ensure that families have access to the essentials they need to survive.

Supportive Framing: Social-Emotional Health and Safety

After installing the steel beams and securing the foundation, our contractors framed new walls to ensure a safe, stable structure. Safety, in all its forms, is at the heart of Harbor House. Through social-emotional learning and an emphasis on nurturing positive relationships, we create a safe and supportive environment where youth and families, many of whom have experienced trauma, can find security and build resilience.

Core Infrastructure: Spiritual Formation

Once the structural framing was complete, our contractors began installing the essential electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems that bring life to a building and keep it running smoothly. In the same way, Harbor House nurtures the spiritual lives of youth, helping them discover their identity and purpose as beloved children of God. Through weekly Soul Care lessons, prayer, and reflection, your support helps youth grow in faith and know they are deeply loved and belong.

Insulation: Education

After inspectors approved the new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, our contractors moved on to insulation and drywall, essential elements that create warmth and help block out unwanted noise. At Harbor House, we also help youth tune out the distractions and messages that tell them they don’t matter. Through daily support with reading, writing, homework, and tutoring, your generosity helps youth discover that they can learn, do have value, and will achieve educational success.

Finishes and Trim: Leadership Development

This is where we are now in the renovation process! Our contractors are beginning to install beautiful glass tile, hang twinkling lights, and lay new hardwood floors. These finishing touches bring the space to life with beauty and inspiration. In much the same way, Harbor House’s leadership development programs help youth discover their God-given gifts and talents and put them into practice. As young people begin to recognize and reach their full potential, transformation happens. Your donation empowers teens to become changemakers in their own communities and step into bright futures filled with possibility.

Something new is taking shape at Harbor House, and we don't want you to miss out on the fun. Donate today to help us cross the finish line and usher in this new era with joy and expectancy!
