In the fall of 2021, we lost our beloved sister, Ariana Zarse, in a tragic hit-and-run accident in downtown Athens. Known as "Ari" to her friends and our community, she was a light in our lives—a passionate friend, a dedicated leader, and a joy to be around. From her involvement as the Director of Social Events in our chapter to her work at local favorites like Saucehouse and Boar’s Head Lounge, Ari was a vibrant part of the University of Georgia community.

Honoring Ari Through Music
Ari loved music and bringing people together. We created Ari’s Battle of the Bands as a tribute to her spirit, her love for music, and her impact on the people around her. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the University of Georgia’s Sunshine Fund, a meaningful cause that reflects her commitment to well-being and community. Established in 2020 through UGA's Student Care & Outreach, the Sunshine Fund provides financial assistance to students seeking mental health services or coping with challenging life circumstances. It’s a way to support those who need help, just as Ari would have wanted.
