Meet Emily: One Woman's Transformation

When Emily enrolled in Pamoza's tailoring program, she was determined to build a better future for herself and her family. So determined, in fact, that she walked three hours each way to attend her training.

It wasn't easy. But Emily persevered.

Through the tailoring program, Emily gained valuable skills and an opportunity to earn an income. She began selling doughnuts and items she had sewn, saving what she could to build her business.

In just nine months, she repaid the loan for her sewing machine. Today, Emily sews from home, earns an income, and is able to pay her daughter Raquel's high school fees. She is even planning to purchase a third sewing machine to expand her business!

What began as an opportunity to learn a skill has become a pathway toward greater self-reliance, dignity, and hope for Emily and her family.

You Helped Make This Possible!

Here's what makes Emily's story especially meaningful to this year's Marketplace:

Springton Lake Presbyterian Church helped Pamoza launch the very tailoring program that changed Emily's life!

Your church's investment helped create opportunities for women like Emily to develop practical skills, earn an income, and provide for their families.

Emily's story is a beautiful reminder that when we invest in women, the impact reaches far beyond one individual. It strengthens children, families, and entire communities.

And the transformation doesn't stop there.

Together, We Can Transform More Lives

At Pamoza International, we believe lasting transformation happens when we address the interconnected needs of families.

That's why our work in rural Malawi goes beyond any single program. Through Christian outreach and discipleship, education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and food security initiatives, we walk alongside families as they work toward lasting self-reliance.

Whether it's a mother learning to read, a young girl staying in school, a family growing enough food to eat, or a woman like Emily building a sustainable livelihood, every step forward matters.
