EMERGE125

EMERGE125 is a Black female-led dance company that expands the reach and impact of dance through creation, performance, and education. Through a body of expressive, athletic modern dance work, EMERGE125 explores social dynamics and personal identity, fostering empathy, reflection, and human connection. We believe that dance can serve as a uniting force across differences in age, race, class, and more. EMERGE125 Artistic Director Tiffany Rea-Fisher is a National Dance Institute Artist-in-Residence, National Dance Project Awardee, and Toulmin Fellow, among others. She is an 8-time AUDELCO Award nominee, and curates the Contemporary Dance series for Bryant Park Picnic Performances. Rea-Fisher is a resident choreographer with Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH); most recently, she choreographed the critically-acclaimed Othello (2026). Outside of CTH, Rea-Fisher’s theatrical work includes The Public Theater’s Pericles (The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 2025), Gun & Powder (Paper Mill Playhouse, 2024), and The Tempest (The Delacorte, 2023). In her role as a community leader, Rea-Fisher is currently Executive Director of the Adirondack Diversity Initiative as well as the co-organizer of the annual Juneteenth March. She has been honored with a Spirit of John Brown Freedom Award, a Creatives Rebuild New York award, and a citation and commendation from the City of New York for her cultural contributions.

Fearless Young Artists Studios (FYA Studios)

Fearless Young Artists Studios (FYA Studios) is a Harlem-based interdisciplinary creative organization that produces original theatrical, cinematic, educational, and community-centered experiences exploring identity, healing, agency, memory, and belonging. Through dance, theater, film, music, and creative education, FYA develops artistically bold, interdisciplinary work that invites audiences into stories of transformation while cultivating spaces where artists create with rigor, curiosity, and fearless imagination. Founded and led by Broadway artist, choreographer, director, educator, and producer LaQuet Sharnell Pringle, FYA Studios is grounded in The Onset Technique, a movement methodology emphasizing ease, flow, and connectivity as pathways to expressive clarity, sustainable artistry, and authentic performance. FYA’s growing body of original work includes The Art of Becoming, Agreement (Still), The Passing of Time, Embodiment of Echoes, Writing My Freedom, Regulate and Release, and the cinematic ballet The Meadow currently in development. FYA's work has recently been presented at the Interim Dance Collective Spring Concert and the 2026 DUMBO Dance Festival, with continued expansion through festivals, educational residencies, and interdisciplinary collaborations. At its core, FYA Studios believes creativity is not simply something we make—it is how we become. We cultivate spaces where artists engage with rigor, play, authorship, and collaboration in equal measure, because extraordinary artistry begins with the freedom to be fully human.

BoSoma Dance Company

Established in 2003 by Irada Djelassi and Katherine Hooper, BoSoma Dance Company is a North Shore-based contemporary dance company combining vibrant, energetic movement with athletic performance quality. The company’s mission is to make dance captivating and accessible through dynamic performance and community education. Under the artistic direction of dancer, choreographer, and educator Katherine Hooper, BoSoma is recognized for its daring contemporary programming. Across 22 seasons, the company has premiered more than 50 original works by Hooper and performed commissions from organizations including Chorus pro Musica and the Patricia Kenny Dance Collection of New York. As an in-demand collaborator, BoSoma has worked with the Peabody Essex Museum and the Collage Dance Ensemble and has performed in festivals around the globe. In 2015, BoSoma was commissioned to perform its own interpretation of Stravinsky’s Les Noces at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall. In 2016, the Peabody Essex Museum commissioned the company to perform for 101 days, five hours each day, accompanying the Rodin: Transforming Sculpture exhibition. In 2020, BoSoma was hired by the Providence Performing Arts Center, with sponsorship from Bank of America, to present hour-long performances at the historic theater in 2021 and 2024. These programs were accompanied by the curriculum document Language Arts Curriculum Connections: Storytelling & Dance, designed to help middle school teachers extend the learning experience for their students. Recognized by The Boston Globe for its “vigorously athletic and artistically sculptural” performances and featured on WCVB-TV’s Chronicle for its community outreach, BoSoma has expanded its mission to harness the power of dance and physical movement to inspire learning in schools.

LaHa Dance Group

LaHa Dance Group began in 2022 as a project centered around a single choreographic work and has since grown into a collective of dance artists who rehearse and collaborate weekly under the direction of dancer and choreographer Laura Halzack. LaHa’s mission is simple: to engage and create community through dance performance. Choreographer Bio: Laura Halzack is considered one of the last muses of legendary choreographer Paul Taylor. She joined Mr. Taylor’s world-renowned dance company in 2006. During her critically acclaimed 13-year career, Mr. Taylor created 16 works on Ms. Halzack, most notably the principal female role in his final masterpiece, Beloved Renegade. Taylor also cast her in 67 of his other works, encompassing more than 80 roles. Ms. Halzack has also performed with Amy Marshall Dance Company and SYREN Modern Dance; in the feature film The Chaperone; in Martha Graham’s Diversion of Angels; and in original works by Larry Keigwin, Doug Elkins, Lila York, Doug Varone, Bryan Arias, Margie Gillis, and Pam Tanowitz. Dance Magazine highlighted Ms. Halzack in its “On the Rise” and “Behind the Curtain” series and featured her on its February 2018 cover. She is now a proud mother, an adjunct professor of dance at Pace University, a teacher at the Taylor School, a co-founder of the Asbury Park Dance Festival, and the artistic director and choreographer of LaHa Dance Group. Since forming LaHa Dance Group, Ms. Halzack has focused on her choreographic practice. Her work has been presented at the Kennedy Center, the Asbury Park Dance Festival, The Shirley Project Space, and the Blackbox Theater at Taylor Dance East. She has also received commissions from Alma College, The George Washington University, and Towson University. Laura is thrilled to have LaHa Dance Group performing in Artists in Motion for the first time.

Meredith Pellon

Meredith Pellon is a dancer and choreographer. She earned a BFA in Dance from The University of the Arts, where she performed works by artists including Paul Matteson, Eiko Otake, Jillian Peña, and Mark Caserta. She has danced for several contemporary dance companies, including DanceKerr, The Guild Dance Company, Good Grl Co, and SLOWBURN Dance. In recent years, she has worked with choreographers including Mike Esperanza, Arinze Okammor, Laura Symth, and Beth Terwilleger.

Neville Dance Theatre

Hailed as “compelling,” “imaginative,” and a “pure delight” by critics and patrons alike, Neville Dance Theatre is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that brings theatrical and thematic innovation to works spanning the classical to contemporary ballet spectrum. Through eclectic, universally themed works that celebrate the human spirit and our shared world, this vibrant company creates a colorful tapestry of movement woven from a diverse array of dance styles. NDT's works enable audiences of all ages and backgrounds to experience the joy and artistry of dance. Founded in 2005 by Brenda R. Neville and composed of artists from across the globe, Neville Dance Theatre has been invited to perform in numerous festivals and at venues throughout the New York area and beyond. The company annually presents New York City seasons and the NYC On Pointe Dance Festival. Its community engagement Chance programs provide opportunities for community members, artists, choreographers, and others, allowing people of diverse ages, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds to participate in and experience the arts. These programs include performance, choreographic, collaborative, educational, employment, and volunteer opportunities.

Kristen Mangione

Kristen Mangione is a dancer, choreographer, and healing arts practitioner with more than 25 years in the field. She has danced with choreographers including Bill T. Jones and worked at American Ballet Theatre, The Juilliard School, and Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. She holds a BA from Smith College and a Professional Diploma in Dance Studies & Choreography from The Laban Centre in London. She also serves on the board of the American Dance Guild. Kristen is the founder of ZenSpace Studios in Hoboken, New Jersey, and the creator of Dance Alchemy for the Soul—a practice integrating movement, somatic healing, and metaphysical inquiry to facilitate embodied transformation.

Alison Cook Beatty Dance

Founded in 2012, Alison Cook Beatty Dance is a New York City-based nonprofit modern dance company dedicated to creating and presenting classically based modern dance that explores the human condition. Through performances, collaborations, education, and community outreach, ACBD works to make dance accessible to audiences of all ages and backgrounds while supporting professional dancers and building meaningful connections through movement.
