Hello, Friends!
I trust your leap year is off to an extraordinary beginning. This year holds special significance for me, as it marks the 9th occasion, I'll be celebrating my birthday on my actual birthdate. Over the years, my friends and family have helped me mark this unique event in countless creative ways. However, this time, I'm inspired to commemorate this once-in-every-four-years celebration by blending my passion for humanity with my love for art.

For my upcoming birthday celebration, I invite you to join me in embracing the art of giving. Often, people ask me what I desire as a birthday gift, and I've always struggled to articulate my wishes. Instead, I'm requesting that you unite with me in giving back to our city and state by spreading the joy of African & Black Art across the Diaspora.

I can't imagine a better way to celebrate the convergence of Black History Month, Leap Year, and my birthday. Throughout the month of February, contributions made to our "Art of Giving" campaign will contribute to the advancement of Black Art. But what does this advancement entail? It means actively nurturing the Black art ecosystem by acquiring visual art pieces, fostering meaningful connections with Black artists, and establishing sustainable systems that support Black art and artists within our local community.

I kindly urge you to assist me in achieving my goal of raising $100,000 in just 29 days. My birthday falls on February 29th, and this would undoubtedly be the most meaningful gift that a leap year "9-year-old" could hope for!
