The ASFL Baseball and ASFL Softball Home Run Derby and Pitchers Challenge is a premier event going into its second year in Connecticut. Players are selected from the CIAC and from the NEPSAC leagues, additionally, if a player is from Connecticut but plays in a different state they are still eligible for selection. It is a competitive process to be selected.

Each player is responsible for raising at least $1,000 for cancer research, though the goal is to raise as much as possible! The 2025 event in CT raised $85,000. Specifically, our players fund Tandem Car-T Cell therapy which is a targeted approach to treating malignant brain tumors. Last year, ASFL helped contribute to one of the biggest breakthroughs in the history of brain tumor research. A video explaining the breakthrough can be found here. The video highlights one of our basketball programs, but all ASFL athletes fundraise for the same cause.
