Overview

ATX Artists for Social Impact is a nonprofit collective of Austin-based performing artists, united by the belief that every person deserves access to food, water, housing, and healthcare to survive — and art, education, community, and opportunity to thrive.

We believe in the power of art to foster belonging and uplift our most vulnerable neighbors.

Our Artist Community Impact Initiative is a grassroots movement with the goal of developing a sustainable creative pipeline that strengthens the bond between Austin’s artists and communities in need, including those who are:

Experiencing poverty and homelessness
In the child welfare system
Displaced immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers
Living with special needs

Our Approach

Our work has two essential components:

Artist Development – empowering professional, emerging, and youth artists of diverse backgrounds with access to education, mentorship, and paid opportunities to grow their craft and become active change makers who help our most vulnerable communities.
Community Connection – bridging the local arts scene with the needs of our community through grassroots creative action—service, collaboration, mutual aid, and performances—art that advocates for our most vulnerable neighbors and inspires audiences.

Your Impact

Your gift to the ATX Artists Community Impact Fund supports a citywide effort to remove financial barriers by funding arts education, paid performance opportunities, and community-driven programming across Greater Austin, and the essential startup and production costs that make these initiatives possible.

It strengthens partnerships, fuels an equitable arts ecosystem, and sustains our mission to keep Austin’s arts scene accessible, compassionate, and inclusive.

Our Programs

ATX Artists Performance Series – Our signature performance series featuring our resident professional companies—the ATX Jazz Orchestra and Capital Contemporary Ballet. Net proceeds support ATX Artists outreach programs and nonprofit partners serving marginalized communities.
Dance for All – Affordable, accessible dance training (with ballet emphasis) led by professional instructors through Capital Contemporary Ballet.

Jams for Humanity – Multigenre community jam series connecting local musicians and raising money for good causes.

HBCU Jazz Mentorship – In partnership with Huston-Tillotson University, this program builds mentorship pathways for Austin’s next generation of diverse jazz musicians.

Future Programs:

Artists for Mutual Aid – Volunteer service linking artists with nonprofits serving marginalized communities.
Jazz Club on Wheels – A pop up jazz series led by the ATX Jazz Orchestra, bringing live music and jazz club vibes to unconventional community spaces like laundromats.
AccelerATX Artists – Workshops, Masterclasses, studio & live recording sessions, and other career-building opportunities for emerging artists of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
