About AutismUp

AutismUp is a grass-roots, not-for-profit organization started by four mothers of children with autism 17 years ago in 2004. These moms were frustrated by the lack of quality programs and support services available to their families. With grit and determination, these moms took matters into their own hands. These parents were determined to fill in the service, program and support gaps for children and families living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In step with the alarming increase of the ASD diagnosis among children, AutismUp quickly grew. What started as a support group, grew into a 2,700 family member organization that still, to this day, is run by parents of individuals with ASD.

Today, AutismUp aims to provide support to all individuals with autism across the ages -- support for families and children with autism that grow up into adulthood with autism. AutismUp aims to reach new heights in everything they do -- autism awareness, advocacy, education, direct programming and support. Most recently, AutismUp became a founding partner of the Golisano Autism Center where programs are run seven days per week in a state of the art, collaborative, and innovative Multi-Sensory Learning Environment. The next phase for AutismUp is adult services -- creating opportunities to live a full life for all the years after the bus stops coming.
