Miracle of Love, Inc. (MOL) has been at the forefront of supporting the HIV/AIDS community in Central Florida for over 30 years, driven by a profound vision: to serve those affected with dignity and compassion until the disease is eradicated. Founded in 1991 by Lowell Stafford, MOL was born out of a personal struggle and a commitment to make a difference. In 1986, at just 19 years old, Lowell Stafford’s life took a sudden turn when his routine blood donation revealed an HIV-positive status. Faced with fear, rejection, and ignorance from the medical community, he returned to Orlando, determined to create a space where people living with HIV/AIDS could find the support, care, and acceptance he struggled to receive.
Stafford’s resolve and dedication laid the foundation for MOL, an organization that became a lifeline for many. Over the decades, MOL has grown into Central Florida’s oldest minority-led HIV/AIDS organization, providing comprehensive, multicultural care, education, and prevention services. Through its history, MOL has reached thousands, offering not just health and wellness services but also hope and resilience, by fostering strong relationships with local and national health institutions and government bodies.
Today, MOL remains steadfast in its mission, but the needs are ever-growing, and not all services are covered by grants or government aid. This is why we join A Walk For Change, a fundraising event that invites the community to come together and continue Lowell Stafford’s legacy of compassion with action. The walk symbolizes solidarity and serves as a powerful reminder that while progress has been made, the fight is far from over.
