Thank you so much for signing up for Axercise + Spoon Blanks with Jess Hirsch and Anna Lindall! We’re looking forward to learning with you.

Below are the course details, and please pay particular attention to the Location and Parking sections.

When
Friday, August 7, 9 AM - 4 PM

Arrival
Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early so you can park and settle in before class starts.

Materials Fee

$40 (paid to the instructor) includes branches and logs for practice and two spoon blanks.

What to Bring
All tools are supplied. Optional: Participants may bring their own carving axe if they have one.

What to expect
In the morning we will practice axing with waste wood. The afternoon will be spent making spoon blanks. Each participant will make 1-2 blanks and have wood to take home.

Food
Feel welcome to bring your lunch or snack. A microwave and toaster oven are available, as well as tea and coffee.

Waiver
All participants must sign a waiver prior to the beginning of class. For those under 18, the waiver must be completed by a parent/guardian. You may download the waiver, print, and sign ahead of time–or just show up and sign at the start of class.

Location, Directions + Accessibility
CENTER FOR PEOPLE AND CRAFT (519 Oak Grove Street, Minneapolis, MN 55403) is located in Loring Park across the street from the Walker Art Center, facing Hennepin Avenue. Finding us on your first visit can be a little tricky, so please read details ahead of time.

We are located in a low stone building to the south of St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral. (We rent our space from the Cathedral but are a separate entity.) We can be accessed by two different doors.

"Front" / Accessible Parking and Entrance: Our front entrance is located to the right (south) of St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral and directly across Hennepin Ave from the Walker Art Center in a low stone building with a concrete ramp. We have around 10 accessible parking spaces here that can be accessed while driving north on Hennepin only--pull into the red "bus only" lane and turn right into the pullout just before St Mark's Cathedral near the playground. Go up the concrete ramp and ring the doorbell attached to the plywood CPC sign.

"Back" / Main Parking and Entrance: On the opposite side of the building, at the back left of the Cathedral's large parking lot, we share a lower level red door with Los Pequenos childcare. Park anywhere in the lot--it's free for CPC participants. Then ring the CPC doorbell at the red door. Please note that this entrance requires that you climb a flight of stairs.

Cancellation Policy: CPC can provide refunds up to two weeks before the class start date (minus a $20 processing fee). Within two weeks, refunds aren’t guaranteed but may be considered.
